Our Commitments
French Tech Sofia exists to serve the ecosystem as a trusted bridge between people, ideas, and opportunities.
We believe an ecosystem grows best when relationships are built with care, when collaboration feels natural, and when people know they are entering a space that is open, serious, and useful.
These commitments guide how we work, how we show up, and the role we aim to play across France, Bulgaria, and the wider region.
01. We act as neutral and trusted ground.

French Tech Sofia is a place where founders, investors, corporates, institutions, and talent should be able to meet with confidence.
We are not here to push a single agenda or represent one type of actor over another. Our role is to help create the conditions for honest, constructive, and balanced exchanges.
Trust matters in ecosystems like this. It takes time to build, and it can disappear quickly when people feel excluded, used, or misled. We want to be a structure that people can rely on precisely because we try to stay fair, open, and consistent.
02. We prioritize quality over noise.

Not everything needs to be bigger to be better.
We would rather create a small number of relevant introductions, conversations, and opportunities than chase activity for its own sake. Visibility has value, of course, but only when it leads to something meaningful.
That principle shapes the way we think about events, partnerships, content, and community building. We aim for relevance first, then reach.
03. We are here to enable, not to capture.

French Tech Sofia is here to support the ecosystem, not to own it.
We do not aim to replace founders, communities, operators, investors, or existing institutions. On the contrary, we see our role as helping useful things happen more easily, whether that means opening a door, making a connection, giving visibility, or creating the right context for collaboration.
If others grow stronger, more visible, or better connected because we played a small part, that is already a meaningful result.
In a nutshell
French Tech Sofia is not here to dominate the ecosystem. It is here to make it more connected, visible, and useful.
04. We foster cross-border openness.

French Tech Sofia sits at the intersection of several worlds. France and Bulgaria, of course, but also the wider European and regional innovation scene.
That position comes with responsibility. We want to encourage the circulation of ideas, talent, capital, knowledge, and opportunity across borders, not keep them in separate silos..
Sometimes that looks like a conversation. Sometimes it looks like visibility, introductions, partnerships, or access. In every case, the intention is the same, to make the ecosystem more connected and more accessible.
05. We build continuity and long-term trust.

A healthy ecosystem is not built through isolated moments. It grows through repeated effort, familiar faces, and relationships that deepen over time.
We believe in continuity. In showing up again. In creating a rhythm people can count on, even when things are still growing.
Trust is rarely created by one event, one message, or one initiative. It is built slowly, through clarity, reliability, and the feeling that the work is rooted in something real.
06. We try to create positive ecosystem value.

We want the work we do to leave the ecosystem stronger than we found it.
That means supporting visibility where it is deserved, helping people connect across sectors or borders, and contributing to an environment where founders, partners, and talent can move forward with more confidence.
We do not claim to do everything, and we do not need to. But we do believe that a good platform can make the wider landscape more readable, more welcoming, and more alive.
